PSG Eyes Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandes
French Giants Target Key Midfielder in Summer Transfer Window
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly interested in signing Manchester United’s captain and midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, this summer. Following the loss of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid on a free transfer, PSG is looking to strengthen their squad with high-profile additions. According to the French outlet L’Equipe, the 29-year-old Portuguese star has caught PSG’s attention as they seek to bolster their midfield options.
Fernandes has been a pivotal player for Manchester United since joining the team and served as the captain under Erik Ten Hag last season. His leadership and skill have made him an attractive target for the French club, who are keen to revamp their lineup during this transfer window.
This interest from PSG is not new. In 2021, the club’s former manager Thomas Tuchel had expressed admiration for Fernandes and revealed that PSG had previously attempted to secure his signing before his move to Manchester United.
“We fought hard to have a connection to him and to bring him to our team,” Tuchel mentioned. “I was made aware of him in more detail, so we watched more and more games and tried to be in touch with him to make it happen. Unfortunately, he decided to sign for Manchester United, and we missed out on him.”
As PSG continues their search for top talent, Bruno Fernandes remains a significant potential addition to their squad, promising to bring experience and skill to the French side.
