“Amit Mishra Unveils Unheard Details of KL Rahul-Sanjiv Goenka IPL 2024 Controversy”

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was engulfed in controversy when Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjeev Goenka was seen having a heated discussion with skipper KL Rahul following a heavy defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing a target of 166, SRH dominated the match, finishing it in just 9.4 overs and winning by 10 wickets. The aftermath of this loss led to Goenka confronting Rahul, which quickly became a hot topic among fans and analysts alike.

In a candid appearance on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show “Unplugged,” LSG spinner Amit Mishra provided insights into the incident, shedding light on Goenka’s disappointment. Mishra explained that the team’s consecutive losses, including a staggering defeat by 90-100 runs against KKR, contributed to Goenka’s frustration. “He (Goenka) was disappointed. We lost two back-to-back matches very badly. If I am so angry about it, will someone who has actually put money into the team not feel angry?” Mishra stated.

Mishra clarified that while the confrontation was serious, it may have been overblown by the media. “It was not a huge deal. He mentioned that the bowling was very poor and the team should have shown more fight. It felt like we surrendered completely. But I feel people and media hyped it up a bit,” he added.

Speculation surrounding Rahul’s future with LSG has been rampant, with numerous reports suggesting he might not be retained ahead of IPL 2025. However, no official statements have been made from either the team or the player regarding this matter.

When asked about the captaincy situation, Mishra emphasized the need for the right mentality in T20 leadership. “It does not matter if he is in the Indian team or not. A captain should have the right mindset for T20s and genuinely play for the team. I am sure LSG will look for a better captain,” Mishra concluded, hinting at potential changes in leadership for the franchise moving forward.
