The BCCI had announced a cash prize of Rs. 125 crore for the victorious Indian cricket team following their win in the T20 World Cup 2024. This amount is not just designated for the players but also includes the support staff, reserves, and other members of the 42-person contingent that traveled to the United States of America and the West Indies for the tournament.
According to a report by the Indian Express, the 15 players of India’s squad, including those who did not play any matches, will receive Rs. 5 crore each. Head coach Rahul Dravid is also set to receive Rs. 5 crore from this pool. Additionally, Dravid’s coaching staff, such as batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will each receive Rs. 2.5 crore. The members of the selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, will receive Rs. 1 crore each.
Among the support staff, which includes physiotherapists, throwdown specialists, masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach, each person will be awarded Rs. 2 crore.
Furthermore, four reserve players named alongside the 15-member squad—Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed—will also receive Rs. 1 crore each.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah had clarified earlier that the Rs. 125 crore prize would cover not just the players but also the support staff, coaches, and selectors.
