“Djokovic vs. Alcaraz: Historic Wimbledon Final Showdown”
Djokovic Aims for Record 25th Grand Slam Against Rising Star Alcaraz

Novak Djokovic says the prospect of creating tennis history will provide the “fuel” he needs to defeat Carlos Alcaraz and clinch his eighth Wimbledon title and a record 25th Grand Slam on Sunday. Just five weeks after knee surgery, 37-year-old Djokovic can become the oldest modern-era Wimbledon champion and avenge his heartbreaking loss to Alcaraz in last year’s final.
“I’m aware of what’s on the line,” said Djokovic. “I will try to use that as fuel to play my best tennis.”
The final will be attended by Catherine, Princess of Wales, who is expected to present the trophy. Djokovic, in his 10th Wimbledon final and 37th Grand Slam final, seeks to break the record he shares with Margaret Court.
Djokovic’s journey to the final has been challenging. He arrived at Wimbledon under a fitness cloud and had not reached a final this season. His first-round match came just 27 days after knee surgery, yet he has made it to the final with determination and resilience.
Carlos Alcaraz, 16 years Djokovic’s junior, is in his fourth Grand Slam final. Alcaraz, the reigning US Open and French Open champion, looks to add a Wimbledon title to his accolades. His win in last year’s final ended Djokovic’s 34-match Wimbledon winning streak.
Alcaraz’s coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, praised his player’s mental strength and preparation. “What he’s doing, having won the title at Roland Garros, flipping the switch to prepare in this way and reach the final, is scandalous,” Ferrero said.
Despite their age difference and Djokovic’s recent surgery, Alcaraz doesn’t see himself as the favorite. “If he’s in the final it’s because he’s at a high level,” Alcaraz said. “The winner will be the one who plays the best in the match and who deals better in the situations that arise.”
This highly anticipated match promises to be a historic clash, with both players aiming to make their mark on Wimbledon history.
