Durham Signs Former New Zealand Fast Bowler Neil Wagner for 2024 Season

Durham Bolsters Squad with Neil Wagner for 2024 Campaign

Durham has added experienced fast bowler Neil Wagner to their roster for the rest of the 2024 season. The 38-year-old left-arm seamer will be available for Durham’s last five County Championship matches and the remaining One-Day Cup games.

Director of Cricket Marcus North shared his excitement about the signing, noting Wagner’s significant international experience, including 260 wickets in 64 Tests for New Zealand. North believes that Wagner’s left-arm pace will be a valuable addition to Durham’s bowling lineup.

Wagner, who retired from international cricket in February, has previously played county cricket for Northamptonshire, Lancashire, Essex, and most recently Somerset. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play in England again and looks forward to contributing to Durham’s success.

Currently, Durham is fifth in Division One of the County Championship and has recently won their opening One-Day Cup match against Lancashire.
