Jos Buttler to Miss The Hundred 2024 Due to Calf Injury
England Captain Misses Out on 100-Ball Competition
England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler will not participate in this year’s The Hundred due to a calf injury. The 33-year-old cricketer announced his withdrawal on Instagram, expressing disappointment at missing the tournament.
Buttler, who led Manchester Originals to a runner-up finish last year, was scheduled to captain the team again. However, he will now be sidelined as he recovers from the injury.
“Gutted to be missing The Hundred this year,” Buttler wrote on Instagram late Saturday. “Best of luck to Manchester Originals for the rest of the campaign. Working hard to be 100% fit as soon as possible.”
The injury comes after Buttler had a brief hiatus following England’s exit from the Twenty20 World Cup in June. His absence is a significant blow for the Manchester Originals, who were hoping for a strong performance in the 100-ball competition.
