Liverpool Triumph Over Arsenal 2-1 in Pre-Season, Manchester United Edge Real Betis 3-2

Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho scored first-half goals to give Liverpool a 2-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday. Kai Havertz netted Arsenal’s goal in front of a crowd of 69,879 at the home stadium of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles. In other pre-season action in the United States, Chelsea defeated Mexico’s Club America 3-0, AC Milan secured a 1-0 win against Real Madrid, and Manchester United edged Real Betis 3-2.

Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 13th minute, outpacing the defenders to latch onto Harvey Elliott’s precise pass and fired a low shot past Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein. Carvalho doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 34th minute, with Elliott again the provider, lofting a perfect pass for Carvalho to volley through Hein’s legs.

Arsenal reduced the deficit in the 40th minute when Havertz scored from close range after Martin Odegaard’s assist. A goalless second half secured the win for Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot, who has replaced Jurgen Klopp. Arsenal’s new signing Riccardo Calafiori was not in the lineup.

In San Diego, Real Betis took an early lead through Iker Losada’s strike in the 15th minute. Manchester United quickly responded, with Marcus Rashford converting a penalty after Amad Diallo was fouled. Diallo then gave United the lead, and Casemiro extended it to 3-1 before half-time. Diego Llorente’s header in the 61st minute brought Betis closer, but United held on for the win.

In Atlanta, Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku converted a penalty in the third minute. Marc Guiu added a second goal with a header in the 21st minute, and Noni Madueke sealed the 3-0 win with a penalty in the 79th minute.

In Chicago, Samuel Chukwueze’s 55th-minute goal gave AC Milan a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid.
