The match saw Medvedev prevail 6-7 (7/9), 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 2-6, 6-3, avenging his earlier loss to Sinner at the Australian Open. Despite a mid-match health scare for Sinner, where he required a medical timeout due to apparent distress and a brief delay, both players displayed remarkable resilience. Medvedev eventually seized control in the final set, securing a crucial break to clinch victory.

Daniil Medvedev managed to secure a crucial break in the third game of the second set, helping him to level the quarter-final match against Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon. Sinner faced another setback, going down a break at 2-1 in the third set, prompting him to call for the tournament physio. The Italian, visibly distressed, had his blood pressure checked on court before taking a medical timeout. After a ten-minute delay, Sinner returned to play and impressed the Centre Court crowd by battling back to tie the set at 5-5. However, he squandered two set points, allowing Medvedev to dominate the subsequent tie-break.

Despite these setbacks, Sinner regrouped and managed to level the quarter-final by securing breaks in the third and fifth games of the fourth set. Nonetheless, Medvedev showed greater stamina in the final set, ultimately breaking Sinner’s serve and securing victory.
