Ravindra Jadeja Pays Tribute to Late Mother With Heart-warming Sketch

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja fondly remembered his late mother, Lata, and paid heartfelt tributes to her, attributing his on-field achievements as a homage to her memory. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the veteran player, who recently celebrated the ICC T20 World Cup victory with the Men in Blue in the West Indies and USA, expressed, “Whatever I’m doing on the field… it’s a tribute to you.” Jadeja’s mother passed away in 2005 during his early years in age group cricket. Following the triumph in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 Internationals on June 29.

Jadeja made his T20I debut in February 2009 against Sri Lanka and played 74 matches, securing 54 wickets at an average of 29.85. He also contributed 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16 in this format. His standout bowling performance was against Scotland in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, where he claimed three wickets conceding only 15 runs. With the bat, his notable innings came against England in 2022, scoring 46 runs off 29 balls, aiding India to a victory by 49 runs.
Renowned as one of India’s premier all-rounders, Jadeja has amassed 6,307 runs in 343 international appearances, averaging 32.67, including four centuries and 33 half-centuries. His highest score is an unbeaten 175*. He has also taken 568 international wickets at an average of 29.30, with his best figures being 7/42. Jadeja played pivotal roles in India’s triumphs in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and ICC T20 World Cup 2024, solidifying his legacy in Indian cricket.
