Bayern Munich Secures Michael Olise from Crystal Palace in Major Transfer Move
French Winger Joins Bayern Munich After Impressive Season with Crystal Palace

Bayern Munich has officially signed French winger Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, as announced on Sunday. The German giants reportedly paid a release clause of 70 million euros ($75 million) to secure the services of the 22-year-old on a five-year deal. Olise, who scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 19 Premier League games last season, completed his medical in Munich.
“It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for,” Olise said. “I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”
Born in London, Olise has represented France’s youth teams and is set to play for Les Bleus under coach Thierry Henry at the Paris Olympics in August.
Olise is Bayern’s second major acquisition of the summer, following the arrival of Japan defender Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart. Bayern Munich, who finished third last season behind Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart, are eager to reclaim their dominance after breaking a streak of 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles.
Despite England captain Harry Kane’s remarkable 36 goals in 32 Bundesliga games, Bayern struggled for additional scoring support, with only Jamal Musiala reaching double figures with 10 goals.
“We want new impetus in our team, new energy, new ideas – that’s what players like Michael Olise stand for,” Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said in a statement. “We’re very much looking forward to having him here. He will enrich our game.”
In addition to Olise, Bayern is reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha. Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah and RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons are also on Bayern’s transfer radar as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
