“Virat Kohli Faces Big Accusation in IPL Row with Gautam Gambhir: ‘Should’ve Said Let’s End This'”

Amit Mishra Reveals Gautam Gambhir Ended Feud with Virat Kohli, Criticizes Kohli’s Attitude

Veteran Indian cricket team spinner Amit Mishra has shed new light on the infamous feud between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, which occurred during the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mishra claims that it was Gambhir who took the initiative to end the tension with Kohli after their on-field spat. The incident during IPL 2023 involved a heated verbal altercation between then Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gambhir and Royal Challengers Bangalore star Kohli, with Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq also getting involved. All three players were penalized for their actions.

However, in IPL 2024, a remarkable change was observed as Gambhir and Kohli were seen hugging and engaging in friendly conversations, signaling an end to their rivalry. Speaking on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show ‘Unplugged’, Amit Mishra revealed that it was Gambhir who made the first move to resolve the situation, and suggested that Kohli should have taken that step.

“I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn’t go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked ‘How are you, how’s your family.’ So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli,” Mishra explained. “Gautam showed his big heart at that time. It should have been Kohli who should have gone and ended the feud. He should have gone and said ‘Gauti bhai, let’s end this.'”

Mishra also commented on Kohli’s evolution over the years, suggesting that fame and power have changed his demeanor. He contrasted this with Rohit Sharma, who he feels has remained the same despite his rise to stardom.

“I haven’t been part of the Indian team in years. Still, when I meet Rohit during the IPL or any other event, he is always joking with me. I don’t need to think what he will think,” Mishra said. “I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, some people think that others are reaching out to them only for a purpose.”

The dynamics between Kohli and Gambhir will be closely watched as they continue their careers in Indian cricket. While Kohli has retired from T20I cricket, he is expected to continue playing in ODIs and Tests. The two players will need to work together for the benefit of the national team, and the resolution of their feud is a positive step towards maintaining harmony.

Mishra’s insights provide a fascinating glimpse into the personalities and interactions of some of cricket’s biggest stars. The revelation that Gambhir took the initiative to mend fences with Kohli highlights his character, while the critique of Kohli’s changing attitude underscores the pressures and transformations that come with immense fame and responsibility in the world of sports.
