“Virat Kohli Goes Viral for Riyan Parag-Inspired Bihu Dance After Catch Against Sri Lanka”

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, known for his spontaneous dance moves, once again captured attention with his on-field celebration during the second ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday. After taking a catch off Sadeera Samarawickrama’s top edge during the 27th over, Kohli celebrated with a Bihu dance—a traditional dance from Assam, inspired by Assamese cricketer Riyan Parag, who has used this dance as his signature celebration.

Kohli’s dance move went viral on social media, adding a fun highlight to the match. India’s bowlers performed strongly, restricting Sri Lanka to 240 for 9. Key contributions from Sri Lanka came from Avishka Fernando (40 off 62 balls) and Kamindu Mendis (40 off 44 balls), while Washington Sundar’s three-wicket haul (3/30) was instrumental in keeping the hosts in check. The slow pitch and disciplined bowling allowed Sri Lanka to only reach 119 for five by the 40th over, with Dunith Wellalage (39 off 35 balls) and Mendis pushing the total in the final overs.
